Vacancy: Audit Committee

We are a wonderful association, we are proud of that! We create our association together, for the members and by the members. If we don't all do our part, it will become impersonal and boring. Fortunately, we have hundreds of volunteers within our association, who contribute to hockey fun and club life in many different ways.

We are looking for a new audit committee consisting of a chairman and three members. Under the articles of association, committee members can hold this position for a maximum of three years.

What does it mean?

The audit committee is appointed by the General Members' Meeting to monitor the financial accountability by the board to the AGM. This is an important advisory role, because the audit committee ensures that there is continuity in the supervision by the AGM and a memory with regard to the financial themes that are involved.

At the annual AGM, the board provides an explanation of the balance sheet and P&L account, the annual report drawn up and accounts for its management and policy in the past year. The audit committee examines this account and accountability before it is presented to the AGM and makes a judgment as to whether it provides a true and fair view. The audit committee reports its findings to the general meeting.

For the effective performance of the function, it is important to have substantive coordination with the treasurer and the financial committee about the state of affairs at least once per quarter and to conduct a more extensive investigation into the accuracy of the reporting prior to the AGM. This is not a complete audit, but will be a general reconciliation (with the general ledger and bank reconciliations), as well as a check for consistency.

What do we ask of you?

For this role it is important that you have affinity and experience with a financial or audit function.
